My Son, has been playing with Jazz Sohal for over nine years now. This has been through the different incarnations of soccer programs that Jazz has been a part of to be able to offer the best opportunities for the kids being coached by him or in his programs. Through the opportunities created by Jazz from when they were 6 years old and going to out of town tournaments when nobody else did. Having the opportunity to tryout as teenagers and make North American select teams that have played in some of the biggest show case tournaments in North America. To also traveling to Europe to play. Jazz has created or introduced programs that have instilled a passion for my son that I believe will help him shape his future in whatever direction he chooses to take his life. And now with VIP Surf where the focus for him and his teammates is school and prep for post secondary education. This is done with the attempt to gain scholarship opportunities. Now even if this were not to happen, the goal setting and responsibilities that these young men have been given to take control of what their future is, is irreplaceable training for life in a world that has gone to rewarding participation. What Jazz has done for my son and many others is bring programs into a community that offer much more than would be normally available here. It has created a passion for these kids where they really are truthfully grateful for what they have and strive to do better.

"Our daughter has been attending Jazz’s academy programs for six years. Her skills and understanding of the game have increased immensely through this attendance. The coaching is high level and focuses on individual strengths/weaknesses as well as the game as a whole. Through the Academy, she attended the Milk Cup in Las Vegas where she played on a high level team with girls from all over the USA. Her coach was Greg Ryan who was the former USA Women’s National Coach. This was an opportunity of a lifetime. Jazz’s Academy programs are a great compliment to any Club program. The sessions are scheduled around the Club sessions so as not to interfere. Because of this, young players are provided the opportunity to receive development from both their Club and an outside Academy. This dynamic provides for greater perspective, insight and opportunities, which in our case, has increased our daughter’s passion for the game."

When our son Davio joined the Academy he was already very advanced for his age, Jazz and the rest of the coaches saw that right away and made sure to challenge him every training. Davio always looks forward to his next session with the Academy and would train 7 days a week with them if he could. Jazz’s constant and consistent focus on players’ soccer awareness and intellectual development and his natural ability to engage kids at a very early age has payed dividends to numerous kids in his program including my daughter. Through the constant positive support of by all the Surf’s coaches, my daughter is more confident on and off the ball, makes split second decisions (which predominantly are the correct ones), plays with visible poise and confidence even against older and physically more dominant players. Also, worth noting, Jazz’s training does not stop with kids. He educates parents as well, recapping every training session and providing ‘at home’ teaching tools to keep their young soccer athletes training and thinking soccer. Such extensive insight into the why’s and how’s of his training makes it so much easier for parents who are interested to be in a position to help their children to excel.
